Erin Wasson: model, stylist, designer and one inspirational lady
One beautiful evening in sunny San Francisco I was overcome with an urge to go out exploring. I had recently moved to a new spot in the city and decided it was a great night to go check out my new surroundings. After walking in and out of several food markets, and boutiques I ended up at Azalea, a boutique in Hayes Valley specializing in jewelry, beauty care (in store nail salon, amazing) and tons of well known and obscure designer clothing. That night they just so happened to be having a trunk show to showcase their new collection of Erin Wasson’s jewelry line Lowluv. I had heard of Erin before through the high fashion sphere, but never her jewelry line. I was greeted by an extremely chic and friendly staff as well as a cupcake and an introduction to Erin Wasson herself. I was so inspired by her kind demeanor and seemingly flawless and relaxed style, not to mention her jewelry line was absolutely amazing, that I had to know more! So in doing what I do best, here is the rundown of Erin Wasson, her career in fashion, her jewelry line and her womenswear line all inspired by her refreshing style and motivating attitude.
Career
Erin Wasson has appeared on the covers of numerous fashion magazines, including French, German, Spanish and Australian Vogue, Flair, Numero, Allure, Esquire and Elle, and walked international runways for designers like Armani, Balenciaga, Cavalli, Gucci, and Karl Lagerfeld; in addition, she walked the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in 2007. She has worked with photographers Steven Meisel, Mario Testino, Peter Lindbergh, Patrick Demarchelier and Ellen Von Unwerth. Her advertisement campaigns include Michael Kors, Rolex, Tiffany & Co., J.Crew, Levi’s, H&M, and the Gap. Since 2002, Wasson has been the international face of Maybelline, appearing in print ads and television commercials for the cosmetics brand. Wikipedia.com
LowLuv
Her Low Luv costume jewelry line is comprised of all the stuff that’s usually stacked, layered and dangling from Wasson’s own lithe limbs. Bangles, rings and earrings have that hammered, vintage, “I picked it up on the side of the road while driving aimlessly through the middle of nowhere” kind of vibe. LA Times
Prices range from $40 to $200

ERIN WASSON X RVCA
Southern California based lifestyle brand RVCA and Erin Wasson have developed a womensware collection. The collection – ERIN WASSON X RVCA – embodies Wasson’s signature low-key style and edge and will launch RVCA Womensware.
RVCA is known throughout the action sports market for unique collaborations with artists, musicians, advocates and athletes basing its brand philosophy on the balance of opposites. RVCA is renown for pairing contrasting personalities up against one another and celebrating the distinction.
The joining of these two very dynamic aesthetics – Erin’s carefree persona and charm and RVCA’s roots in action sports will introduce a fresh outlook on fashion to the international marketplace.
Hopefully you have found some of the same inspiration I did when first introduced to all that is Erin. Stay tuned for more updates soon!

Etsy pick of the week: BrillianceFound Jewelry
Brilliance Found is a collection of original handmade jewelry featuring quartz crystal, stone & mixed metals. Statement earrings, layer necklaces, bangle bracelets, cocktail statement rings, two finger rings, body jewelry & more! Brilliance Found jewelry is worn by cutting-edge fashionistas worldwide.
I stumbled across this store in my usual weekly etsy browsing and all of the jewelry really caught my eye. I love the different tone metals and the simplicity of each design. The multi-finger rings are so original as are the quartz crystal’s and definitely make a statement when on. I also really liked how each piece is shown on the body, so you can really get a good perspective of the size and position. Another favorite to add to my collection! Etsy Pick Of The Week – Poetic Designs
Indulge yourself or the special someone with Handmade Modern Vintage Jewelry from POETIC DESIGNS for the romantic poet in you…
Each piece of my jewelery is meticulously designed and handcrafted to tell a story with a touch of mystique and nostalgia. I fashion my wearables with vintage, old world inspired and recycled objects like watch components, keys, print images, flowers and Victorian filigrees. Although my creations are vintage and Old World inspired, they are designed to compliment current style and fashion trend.
– Yolanda, desginer
It was the intricate and beautiful Eiffel Tower necklace (bottom right image) that lead me and my jewelry obsessed self to this etsy shop. At first I browsed through quickly, but after closer inspection the true handcrafted nature of these pieces became clear to me. In every necklace you will find the chain attached to a well proportion flower, mixed in with a few complimentary beads all creating a sense of true vintage inspiration. Modern day vintage can sometimes be a scary concept, and few designers really get the grasp on it. Yolanda is clearly one of these designers, and her talent and creativity shine bright in each of these beautiful pieces of jewelry.
