A Buried Bauble Tribute

For the past several months Friday mornings have served as the highlight of my week. For those of you who follow me on twitter, you already know why – Buried Baubles! One of my most favorite jewelry companies BaubleBar came up with a super creative and fun idea for their shoppers. Every Friday morning they mark down 1 item (sometimes 2) on their site to $10.00 and send out a clue to go with it! And the hunt begins, some Buried Baubles are easier to find than others, but true ‘Bauble Heads‘ know the search will definitely pay off. Below are some of my fav BB’s from the past few months!

Bracelets – Ivory Band Bangle, Hematite Chunky Links Bangle, Taupe Band Bangle.

Earrings – Lilac Cushion Studs, Elongated Double Drop Earrings, Cabochon Bubble Drops.

There is still one more week left in the Buried Bauble hunt! Check out the BaubleBar Facebook or Twitter page this Friday AM for your chance to get the last Buried Bauble of the summer.

Watch Out! Nordstrom Fall 2011 Watch Review

Arm candy, need I say more? After carefully reading through all 630 pages of InStyle’s September issue the only thing on my mind heading into fall is my watch collection. I was so inspired flipping through the pages that I decided to turn to my home for all the best staples – Nordstrom and review some of the collection they have to offer us this season! I have picked out 4 categories to go over – the basics, rose gold, trendy and white watches. Enjoy!

Nordstrom Fall 2011 watch collection

First up we have the Marc by Marc Jacobs ‘Amy’ Crystal Bracelet Watch. This watch is an amazing staple for any wardrobe, it’s bright crystals detail coupled with a milky-white dial framed is top notch chic in my book. A matching stainless steel bracelet is also the perfect complement. Then we have the Emperio Armani ‘Super Slim’ Square Bracelet Watch in gold. This watch is the perfect contrast from it’s neighbor to the right. Similar build yet different in so many ways. Roman numerals elegantly mark the mother-of-pearl dial on this gold work of art. You really can’t go wrong with either of these amazing staples!

Next up we have a personal favorite of mine – Rose Gold. If you have done any reading on my blog in the past 6 months you will know how crazy I am about rose gold. It’s a trend I hope never goes away! Michael Kors takes the cake in the RG department with two stunning designs – ‘Rock Top’ Rose Gold Bracelet Watch and Leather Strap Watch. These two watches cover a huge range of occasions, outfits and trends!

Next up we have some fun trendy styles. You don’t always have to go with your classic metal styles – Movado and La Mer show us why! First up is the Movado ‘Linio’ Bangle Watch which can be described as minimal, effortless, sleek and elegant. I love a good white banded watch, classic for any season! Second we have the new La Mer collection ‘Waterfall’ Leather & Chain Wrap Watch. After taking one look at this La Mer beauty I knew I had to have it, it’s the perfect middle ground between an arm full of bracelets and a watch!

Wrapping up our collection is a staple for any wardrobe – the White Watch. Some people think white watches like these can only be pulled off in the summer… wrong! I think with the right accessories and outfit you can definitely wear either of these beauties all year round. On the left is the super cool Nixon ’51-30 Chrono’ Watch and to the right is the Juicy Couture ‘Pedigree’ Jelly Strap Watch. Whether you are a sporty person or super chic person, a good white watch will go far!

Overall, there is a much larger range of styles than shown in this blog post. Nordstrom as well as many more stores is stocking up as we speak and getting ready for fall. I hope this brings you some inspiration on your next watch quest!

“Designers take a painterly approach to fall 2011 by artfully combining bright colors with staple neutrals, reminiscent of how an artist would construct a stunning work of art,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “Much like a painter’s masterpiece, there is a certain romance to this season’s palette.”

Some of my favorite colors & design inspirations are (left to right) Rebecca Taylor – Honeysuckle, Cynthia Steffe – Deep Teal and  VPL – Orchid Hush.

Im sure we will see a lot more where this came from and I hope you all walk away with a little fall inspiration. Pantone is the best – read more about their Fashion Color Report – Fall 2011!

3 Fall Collections to get Excited About!

Living in California, it’s hard to remember that elsewhere in the US summer is coming to a close. But after spending a week in New England I am officially excited about fall and all the amazing new trends and styles coming our way! Here are 3 collections I am most excited about:

Frye Boots – We know that these never really go out of style, but fall is the time to un-pack your knee high’s and start pairing them up with your favorite skinny jeans, or your favorite leggings and jumper dress. Frye boots are not only some of the most comfortable things that will ever grace your feet, but they are also extremely well made and will last you forever. Shown below are 3 of my favorite styles the Campus 14L in Sunrise, the Carmen Harness Tall in Taupe, and the Melissa Button Boot in Bordeaux.

Next up is the new MadMen Collection from Banana Republic. MadMen is one of my favorite shows, and is also shaping up to be my favorite collection from BR yet. The designs are filled with flare from the 1960’s including razor sharp tailoring and feminine silhouettes. Some of my favorite pieces are the trench coats, leopard print accessories and sleek begonia print dresses.

Lastly we have the stunning Peacock Collection by Alexis Bittar exclusively for Nordstrom. Personally I have never been a big peacock fan, and have seen many styles come and go over the years. This collection however takes the elegance of the bird and turns it into jewelry filled with iridescent blue’s, silvers and and browns. Pieces are hand carved and will take any outfit to the next level. Three of my favorite pieces are the ‘Alexandria Peacock’ Multi Strand Necklace, the ‘Alexandria Peacock’ Large Hinged Bracelet and the ‘Alexandria Peacock’ Large Fringe Earrings. It’s a gorgeous well made collection and I look forward to incorporating these pieces into my jewelry collection!

And there you have it ladies and gents, 3 of my favorite fall collections to get excited about. There’s a lot more from where this came from so stay tuned as we head into another amazing fall!
